coats-guiles-photoOriginally recruited in the late 80s to train and work with the legendary Cooper Research & Marketing (CRAM) in London, I founded Guiles Associates, Inc. (GA) in 1994 to bring the best of European qualitative standards to qualitative research in the U.S. With more than 20 years of proven history building brands, products, and communications, I am fortunate to draw from both a wide range of innovative techniques and an in-depth understanding of business strategy in order to offer my clients uniquely meaningful value and counsel far beyond that of a mere “moderator” (see testimonials.) From my perspective, this experience with consumer and respondent behavior affords me a paramount understanding and application of qualitative research for clients whose interests may vary from small community projects to developing global marketing strategies.

With undergraduate honors from Duke University and a University Honors Diploma from The University of Kent (UK), my history exploring consumer needs and aspirations includes a notably broad spectrum of products and services with a client roster ranging from Chanel to the New York Police Department (see clients.)

In addition to enjoying a fundamental enthusiasm for understanding what makes people tick, I am an avid tennis player and always game for riding friends and clients around NYC on the back of my Triumph Speedmaster motorcycle. (Seriously. I’d love to.)
